6/24/10 - 5th Day - Morning. Greetings y'all. First of all I want to call for praise and thanks to God for the rain we received last night and today. Another million-dollar rain for us, since our 6 acres of blackeyed peas were starting to show stress from 3 weeks of near 100 temperatures with no rain. This rain will really help, and we are so thankful for it. I must say here that there is a huge difference between knowing something intellectually (such as... crops need rain) and knowing it experientially (such as... OUR crops, on which we rely, and which we planted and have bestowed countless hours of work upon, need rain).Hey, the top picture is from our latest blackberry harvest trip up to Cottonwood, Texas last wednesday. We went as a community, and after the harvest we stopped at the farmer's picnic area and had lunch. It was marvelously cool under the towering pecan trees, and we had a very good time of fellowship.
The following pictures are from our trip to Lake Brownwood on Wednesday afternoon after we got home from blackberry picking...
